MATCH PREVIEW | Keilor Park SC v Essendon Royals SC
Our seniors head to Keilor Park SC this Saturday in search of their first win of the season.
New senior coach Vaughan Coveny has worked the players hard in training in preparation for the short trip to Keilor, following the formal announcement of his appointment this week.
Coveny said belief and hard work would be crucial to the Royals turning their season around.
"It's never nice not winning game, but we need to keep believing that things will turn and I believe they will," he said.
"We need to continue to work hard and not be so down on ourselves.
"The players definitely have the ability, so we just need to give them that self-belief.
"Once we get that first win on the board, I think we can start to progress up the ladder."
Keilor Park took a 2-1 win over Yarraville in its last game, improving its record to two wins, a draw and two losses for the season.
The match kicks off at 3pm at Keilor Park Recreation Reserve and we hope to see our supporters travel in numbers to cheer the boys on to a first win of the season.
At 1pm, our Reserves will be looking to continue their solid start to the season.
The Royals Reserves took an impressive point from league leaders Caroline Springs George Cross last time out, following a 3-1 win over Whittlesea United SC the week prior.
Keilor Park will prove tough opponents, however, having won their last three games on the trot and occupying fourth spot on the ladder, equal on points with second and third-placed Preston Lions and North Sunshine Eagles.
