SEASON 2020 | Ebu-Bekir "Beks" Capar is back as Essendon Royals complete latest signing
Ebu-Bekir “Beks” Capar is back in red and white as the left-back signs on for his second stint at Essendon Royals ahead of the 2020 season.
Beks was a member of the club’s first State League One squad in 2017 before moving onto NPL outfit Moreland Zebras.
In his previous stint at the club, Beks played 15 league games and scored one goal and the left-back said he was delighted to be back at the club that gave him his opportunity at a State League One level.
Beks played last season with State League One rivals Whittlesea United.
“I was here when we were first in State One and it was my first gig at this level,” he said.
“It was a bit different then, coming from a different set-up in a different environment. It was a bit more professional.
“After Royals, I went to an NPL gig at Moreland Zebras where I spent one season.
“With my other commitments, I felt like State League One was the right fit for me so this season I feel like I’m coming back to the club that gave me my senior debut at this level.
“It’s good to see some familiar faces around still and I’m looking forward to a big season. The aim is to win the league and make some history here.”
Beks said he was excited to be working with senior coach Vitale Ferrante and the host of exciting new players who have arrived at the club for the new season.
“I think it’s a really good squad we’ve brought together with a great coach,” he said.
“As I said, I’m looking to win the league here and move forward as a club.”
