STATEMENT | Essendon Royals backs donations for National Bushfire Disaster Appeal

Essendon Royals SC is calling for members to make monetary donations to aid bushfire relief efforts across the country.

Whilst the club had previously intended to host a food and donations drive this Thursday, we respect the advice from Victoria Police and other agencies that the relevant bodies are at capacity with respect to the incredible amount of goods and food donations already made this week.

In lieu of a donation drive, Essendon Royals would like to ask all members and supporters to consider making a monetary donation to the National Bushfire Disaster Appeal.

This appeal, set up by Bendigo Bank’s Community Enterprise Foundation, directs 100% of donations to fire-affected communities.

They have also established a Victoria-specific fund.

Our club is proudly sponsored by the Keilor East branch of the Bendigo Bank.

Any donations to this worthy cause are appreciated.

Essendon Royals has a long-established policy of directing 5% of all sponsorship monies to charity.

In 2020, Royals will direct these funds to the National Bushfire Disaster Appeal.
