SEASON 2020 | Essendon Royals open Expressions of Interest for Community Football
Essendon Royals are delighted to open Expressions of Interest (EOI) for community football at the club in 2020.
Over the last few seasons, the Royals have built one of Victoria’s largest and strongest community football programs.
In 2019, the club was home to over 700 players and the club anticipates similar interest this season.
The addition of the Junior Boys National Premier Leagues (JBNPL) to the club’s program is an exciting development for all involved at the club, however, the community program remains a crucial element of the club’s program.
Catering from under-8s all the way up to under-20s, the Royals community program places a strong emphasis on providing a safe and fun environment for players to enjoy their football, whilst providing a strong focus on developing players’ technical skill, tactical understanding and personal development.
The club’s technical team includes Head of Football and former New Zealand international Vaughan Coveny and MiniRoos and Community Technical Director Michael Curcija - a former Socceroo and Royals senior coach - who both take great pride in ensuring all coaches at the club are well-educated and supported to ensure all players have access to great coaching and experiences.
Factor in the completion of the Cross Keys Reserve redevelopment which will add a THIRD pitch to the already breathtaking facility and there truly has never been a more exciting time to become a part of the Essendon Royals family.
As per recent seasons, there will be a trial period for all community teams.
To express your interest in playing community football at Royals in 2020, either as a returning player or new player, please fill out the form below to assist with the organisation of trials and to ensure you are registered on our mailing list.
