The under-15 Boys’ Red team left it late to secure a 2-2 draw against Meadow Park last weekend, but it was the least they deserved for their efforts.
The two teams have made a habit of playing out entertaining score-draws this season, having drawn 3-3 the last time they met.
The Royals hit the lead through a brilliant Keenan Kemp strike but had to settle for parity heading into the break.
Meadow Park hit the lead midway in the second half before Christian Loccisano scored a penalty late on to secure a point.
Coach Lucas Camilleri said he was happy with how his team was playing, but would like to see improvement in the final third.
“We dominated the game, had most of the possession and the ball movement was excellent, but we failed to capitalise in the final third,” he said.
“We have struggled to find consistency throughout the season but the boys have really started to gel in recent weeks.
“Everything we have been working on in training is finally being shown on the pitch and as I coach I couldn't be happier with that.
“We've lost and drawn a few games that we should of won which has been frustrating but we use those results as motivation to work harder.
“The talent is undoubtedly there and I believe that at our best we could beat anyone, it's just a matter of ensuring we are performing at that level week in week out.”
