KIDS' CORNER | Our Under-13 Gold christen Cross Keys turf in style

Kids’ Corner returns this week as junior football arrives at Cross Keys Reserve.

This week, we focus on the Under-13 Boys’ Gold team which became the first Royals junior team to play a competitive fixture at our new Cross Keys facility.

The boys did the occasion justice with a barnstorming performance, winning 9-0.

The Essendon Royals celebrate their 60th anniversary this year and will be celebrating the occasion with a Gala Night on August 17 at Hyatt Place, Essendon FIelds.

Today, president Richie Di Sauro spoke of his excitement for the night and encouraged all junior teams to ensure they are represented on a night in which the club will celebrate it’s brilliant history, fantastic present and promising future.

Under-13 Boys’ Gold

Coached By: James Baulch

The under-13 boys’ gold team recorded a 9-0 win over Heidelberg Stars on Sunday courtesy of a truly breathtaking team performance.

The performance lived up to the hype expected of the Royals boys who became the first junior team to play out a competitive fixture on the new Cross Keys Reserve turf.

While the Royals put a premium on development over results, this 9-0 win was a tribute to the continued progression of the players under the tutelage of coach James Baulch.

The last time the two teams, the Royals only triumphed 2-1 and the improvement between the two games was demonstrated in the result on Sunday.

The team had a trusty photographer on hand to capture the day and we have 50 brilliant photos of the day.
