Clemente's Women Move Into Second With Fourth-Straight Win | Match Report

Yarra Jets 0 Essendon Royals 7 (Pantazopoulos x2, Marques x2, Nissan, Silvestros, Domzalski)

The Essendon Royals senior women continued their dramatic climb to the top of State League 2 Women’s North-West with another stunning goal-fest at Yarra Jets FC.

The Royals women have been unstoppable in recent weeks, firing another warning shot to the rest of the competition with a hugely impressive 7-0 win.

Stephanie Pantazopoulos and Marcella Marques both scored two goals each, with the other three coming via Eilaan Nissan, Talia Silvestros and Sarah Domzalski.

The Royals came into the clash with Yarra on a three-game winning streak and asserted their domiannce from kick-off.

Nissan hit the post after just five minutes, by when the Yarra goalkeeper had already been forced into a string of saves, before Pantazopoulos opened the scoring early in the first half.

The flood gates opened soon after as the girls put in a complete display to put another six goals before the Jets keeper before full-time while keeping a clean sheet in the other end.

The win, coupled with Hume City dropping points was enough for the Royals to move into second and into promotion territory.
