Good culture brings results, results don't bring good culture.

That’s the message from Essendon Royals senior women’s coach Johnno Clemente following his side’s stunning turnaround in form.

The Royals have won their last two games on the trot – their first two wins of the season – scoring 10 goals in the process.

In fact, if you like goals, you could do a lot worse than make the trip to La Trobe University to see our Royals women in action when they take on La Trobe this Sunday.

The Royals have sprung into fourth on the table following their most recent stunning performances and could move into second with another win this week.

Clemente said that as long as his players continued to enjoy their football and play for one another, the results would keep coming.

“Just continuing to enjoy our football is key, a huge belief of mine is that good culture brings results, results don't bring good culture,” he said.

“The trademark of my teams and especially the women is our tactical flexibility and the ability to switch things around dependent on the game and opposition has been extremely beneficial.”

Senior women’s coach Jonno Clemente is positive about his team’s chances.

La Trobe has also won two games so far this season, including last week’s 1-0 win over Yarra Jets FC.

“Any team that has two wins in this league is a team not to be taken lightly, there one point behind us and we'll be looking to make that gap even bigger,” Clemente said.

“Every team has strengths and weaknesses but I’ve also taken note that they have scored every game they've played so keeping a clean sheet will be crucial.”

The women will be looking to score a few more goals this weekend.
