Kids' Corner | Meet Our Under-9 Whites
Don’t let their cuteness fool you, these girls can play!
EssendonRoyals.com.au’s Kids’ Corner returns this week with an in-depth look at our under-9 whites.
These girls have well and truly represented our great club brilliantly this season, playing out of their skin for the famous Royals jersey.
This weekly feature is dedicated to the hundreds and hundreds of kids who run out to represent the Essendon Royals every Sunday, as well as the coaches, team managers, parents and sponsors who make it all possible.
Thank you to the coaches, team managers and parents who sent in photos.
Remember, if you're at a game on Sunday and taking photos, be sure to send them in to firstname.lastname@example.org to get your photos in our Weekly Junior Wrap.
DON'T FORGET: Our Last Man Standing event is just weeks away. Each team has been given three tickets to sell and syndication options are available. Contact email@example.com for more, or purchase your tickets directly from our website HERE. This event is a great way to meet fellow parents, senior coaching staff and committee members and enjoy a great night in the company of our great Royals family.
Under-9 Girls White
Coached By: Paul Ciavarella and Chris Michail
Team Sponsors: Fruit Master, Romina’s Dance
The smiles on the faces of our under-9 girls white team tells its own story.
These girls love their football - and that’s a good thing because as it turns out, they’re quite good at it too.
The girls have scored goals for fun this season and have even picked up a silver medal at the recent Point Cook tournament.
“Chris and myself are very proud of these girls,” co-coach Paul Ciavarella said.
“This is the second season we have had this group. During the off season we have being playing our girls in older age tournaments and pre-season friendlies, in which they have competed well.
“So far this season, we have started well and have scored 29 goals to the opposition two in the first five rounds.
“Of the 29 goals scored, we have had eight different goalscorers.
“Two weeks ago I entered the girls in the Point Cook tournament. We played extremely well all day and made the grand final with a game to spare.
“In a hard-fought final against Glen Eira we finished nil all. We went down on penalties 4-3. So 2019 is going well and looking forward to the rest of the season.”
