Kids' Corner | Meet Our Sweet 16s and All-Conquering 14 Reds
Wednesdays are for the kids!
Welcome to our newest feature on EssendonRoyals.com.au, where we take a look at some of the up and coming stars of our wonderful club.
The Royals are one of the biggest clubs in the north west and we would not be the club we are without the army of juniors who go out and represent us week in, week out.
This new feature is to give some much-deserved recognition to all the kids, mums, dads, grandparents and all the coaches and team managers who put in colossal efforts every week.
To kick things off, we take a look at two teams this week.
Thank you to the coaches, team managers and parents who sent in photos.
Remember, if you're at a game on Sunday and taking photos, be sure to send them in to firstname.lastname@example.org to get your photos in our Weekly Junior Wrap.
DON'T FORGET: Our Last Man Standing event is just weeks away. Each team has been given three tickets to sell and syndication options are available. Contact email@example.com for more, or purchase your tickets directly from our website HERE. This event is a great way to meet fellow parents, senior coaching staff and committee members and enjoy a great night in the company of our great Royals family.
Coached By: Bruce Duong
Team Manager: Carlo Di Sipio
Team Sponsors: M&C Drainage, Blue Venus
Led by coach Bruce Duong, our under-16 girls always approach the game with the right spirit, attacking each week with renewed vigor and confidence.
This young team continues to develop under Bruce's guidance and while the first four games have been tough in terms of results, the club is confident the girls will continue to grow and develop over the remainder of the season.
Team Manager Carlo Di Sipio praised coach Bruce and the players for their contagious love of the game.
"Each week the girls approach the game with confidence. Even though the scoreboard doesn’t show it, they are winners," he said.
"We happened to have played the top 4 teams in the comp so far, and it has been tough. I am confident that the next few weeks will tell a different tale.
"Bruce’s passion for the game shines through in the girls. He sees individual qualities in the girls that they don’t recognise themselves. It wont be long now that we will have success."
The smiles on the players faces prove that nothing can stop these girls from enjoying their football and representing the Royals with pride.
We look forward to checking back in on Bruce and the girls throughout the season.
Coached By: Ash Pesin
Team Manager: Mark Lister
Our under-14 Reds have made an absolute flying start to the season under the tutelage of Ash Pesin.
A rising star amongst the Royals coaching ranks, Ash's team has starred in the under-14B North division this season and are pressing for a move to the 'A' Division after winning all four of their opening fixtures.
The boys have scored 20 goals and conceded just two so far this season in a series of incredible performances.
Nineteen of those goals came in the first three games alone, before Sunday's tight 1-0 win over FC Birrarung Blue. Yousef Hawli scored the all-important winner this week.
Around the Grounds
