SEASON 2020 | Pantazopoulos recommits for State League 1 campaign

Goalscorer supreme Stephanie Pantazopoulos has recommitted to Essendon Royals ahead of the 2020 State League 1 campaign.

The forward was one of the stand-out performers of the 2019 season, with her 25 goals crucial to the Royals promotion from State League 2 last season.

Pantazopoulos said she was excited about the challenge of helping the Royals to even bigger and better things in 2020.

“I am really looking forward to the challenge next season will bring,” she said. 

“Our team is pretty much the same group of girls, we gave our all this season and became a great team both on and off the pitch. I love playing soccer with these girls. 

“With some new strong additions, I am excited about the year ahead.”

Royals senior women’s coach Mick Gallo was delighted to be able to count on Pantazopoulos for the new season.

"Steph brings some excitement and pace to the team, as well as a great team-first attitude,” he said. 

“She has an eye for goal and we as a group have high expectations for Steph. 

“With Steph in our team, we believe the opposition will be pulling the ball out of the back of the net plenty of times in 2020!"

The Royals are excited to be welcoming back one of the club’s true stars.
